Laurel, MD (PRWEB) January 25, 2006 -- Grant Park McNally Robinson in Winnipeg, Manitoba, will be the hotspot in Canada on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. Echelon Press Publishing author KC Oliver will be hanging out with anyone who wants to have fun as she launches her debut Young Adult thriller PRETTY PRETTY. Oliver brings together the chills of R.L. Stine and the flair of Francine Pascal with energetic results.
PRETTY PRETTY is the story of two young women who think they've landed the summer jobs of a lifetime–in Hawaii–but soon realize that they may be jobs to die for…literally.
"K.C. Oliver takes us straight into a nightmare. Barrington House is a place where your worst fears threaten to come alive. I found myself on the tip of my chair...strange and terrifying...I could hardly stop myself from looking under my bed to make sure that there were no ghosts or monsters. That's the frightening effect that PRETTY PRETTY has on you! It's written so good that you start to believe in being haunted yourself." –Euro-Reviews
KC Oliver resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and loves writing for, and talking to young adults. She recently visited an elementary school in Winnipeg and talked to five separate classes. She says, "They were excellent audiences, with extremely intelligent questions." One of the highlights came when she spent some time working on a "character" project with one of the classes, and "the creative juices flowed!"
Many of the bright kids are budding authors themselves, and getting to meet someone from their own community, who is a published author, generated the realization that they too could become successful authors. KC was deeply inspired by these fantastic kids and said, "It was wonderful to see their eyes light up at the prospect of a dream coming true. If children are aware that the door of opportunity is open to them, they are eager to step right through to successful futures."
KC is looking forward to other chats and readings with schools, libraries and other venues in Winnipeg, with dates to be announced.
