Arteeno Entertainment Launches New Rock & Roll Trivia Game Northbridge Trading to debut Arteeno Entertainment's Rockit 100! - The 80's at the 66th Annual Canadian Toy and Hobby Fair. Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) January 26, 2005 -- Arteeno Entertainment and Northbridge Trading announced today that Rockit 100! – The 80’s, a new rock and roll trivia game, will be launched at the 66th Annual Canadian Toy and Hobby Fair (Toronto, January 28 – 30, 2006.)
Brett McAteer, CEO said that Rockit 100! - The 80’s is the first in a new series of trivia games. “Our experience with flagship boardgame Rockit To Number 1 has shown that there is a hungry market for popular music trivia games. We designed the Rockit 100! series to meet the demand with a low-cost, high-fun product targeted at the impulse buyer.”
McAteer pointed out that at the inspiration for the new game is the familiar pop music chart. “For The 80’s edition, we chose the 100 biggest hits of the decade and crafted five fun and often revealing clues about each,” said McAteer. “And we kept the rules of play simple,” he said. Players earn 5 points for correctly identifying the song and recording artist on the first clue. A correct guess on the second clue earns 4 points, and so on. The first player to accumulate twenty points wins the game.
Steve Hebbs, president of Arteeno Entertainment said the focus groups and test play indicate that Rockit 100! will be a hit. “Nobody wanted to stop at 20 points and it was all we could do to hang on to our production samples for the next group,” he said.
Hebbs said that another eight editions of Rockit 100! are in development or ready to go. “The 80’s is the era that most retrospective radio programming and pop culture products have in focus at this point. It’s a function of consumer demographics and it’s the best decade to launch the new game series,” said Hebbs. “But the 70’s is also hugely popular, and we are already getting enquiries about The 60’s and The 90’s editions.” Hebbs said Arteeno has also developed some very appealing special editions of Rockit 100!. “The decade-specific editions appeal to every music lover, regardless of their musical preferences,” he said, “but the genre-specific editions will truly rock for fans of R&B, Punk, New Wave, Metal, and more." Hebbs added that Arteeno is not afraid of Disco, either.
Arteeno has partnered with Northbridge Trading Inc. of Waterloo ON to distribute Rockit 100! to specialty retail stores across Canada. Dirk Fischer, president of Northbridge Trading said the game will be a featured product at this year’s Toy and Hobby Fair along with Arteeno’s Rockit To Number 1. “We’ve been looking for the best way to work with Arteeno for some time,” said Fischer. “With this new line of impulse buy products, we know that many of our retail partners will be making room at the point of purchase.”
