Website Launched for Sharing Free Online Announcements -- From Weddings, Babies, and Pets to a First Home Run

Amigram.com is a free website for sharing fun, funny and special announcements – engagement, wedding, baby, anniversary, pet, birthday, graduation, business and any other news people want to share. Amigram fills the gap between a mass email and print announcement; and provides a way to reach non-Facebook (and Facebook) friends.

Amigram Ltd announces the launch of amigram.com, a free website for creating and sending online announcements.

"It’s fun to send and receive announcements like a wedding, pet or engagement announcement but the question is how to do it. A generation ago it was easy; you just put it in the local paper. Today, that’s not the case. We created Amigram.com to give people a nicer option than a mass email, a more environmentally friendly alternative to a print announcement, and a way to reach non-Facebook (as well as Facebook) friends. We also broadened announcements to include business announcements, pet announcements, one of our most popular categories, and miscellaneous announcements for anything else that people want to share,” said Pat Oaklief, one of Amigram’s founders.

Users create an online announcement which can include special messages, photos, Youtube videos, links to other websites, gift registries, and opportunities for visitors to post comments.. Users choose whether they want to send the announcement to family and friends, post it on Amigram.com, or both.

Amigram is a made up word - ami in French means friend and gram is a Greek derivative meaning something written. So amigram is something written to a friend, according to Oaklief.
