SmartMove Conveyors recommended a 30 ft. long X 9 inch wide conveyor powered by their standard whisper quiet variable speed brushless drive. A photoelectric sensor was also suggested at the end of the conveyor line so delivered bins could be held until they were ready to be packed.

Prior to installation of the new conveyor system, finished prescriptions had to be moved by hand through the pharmacy to the receiving table and then packed for delivery. Ownership was also concerned about using a conveyor in an office environment due to the direct contact with the pharmacists and the power requirements for such a device.

The new conveyor installation addressed all these problems. The conveyor system improved productivity by letting the conveyor move the bins versus the operators walking with the order and replaced the receiving table by storing filled orders along its length, by having a photoelectric sensor mounted at the end of line. Due to the low power requirements, Speicaltyscript was able to power the conveyor by plugging into a standard outlet.
