Website: http://www.taylormackenzie.com/ New York, NY (PRWEB) January 2, 2010 The moment has finally arrived. The moment Jena Reed, Taylor & Mackenzie Gallery Owner, and her artists have been preparing for. For them, it would be a lie to say it has been an easy road. Never mind the last five months of hard work and determination since the founding of the gallery in August of 2009, "Introductions" represents a lifetime accumulation of hopes and dreams. The month long exhibition titled ”Introductions” will run from January 5th till January 29th at 15 East 27th Street in New York City. The opening reception is January 7th from 6 -9 pm. The exhibition is curated by Kelly Worman. The statement piece for the exhibition, "Work Harder" by new emerging artist Matthew Adam, captures the theme of “Introductions” and the emotional journey the exhibiting artists and the new gallery itself have gone through, and will continue to go through, in order to reach their goals. “Work Harder” demonstrates an obsessive compulsiveness. It screams persistence and hard work over dreamy non-substantive goals. Aja Ann Trier, the first Taylor & Mackenzie represented artist and practically a founder of the gallery, personifies the image and the core of the gallery not just through her unique and stunning artwork, but also by her relentless dedication to succeed in the art world. In just a few years, Aja has grown an established collector base with an impressive selling record. She churns out consistent quality work while also challenging herself to develop new strengths and techniques. Aja’s work is passionate, edgy, and a fine display of today’s abstract impressionism. Laura Meyers, a fashionable and trendy redhead as bright and energetic as her paintings, is a standout emerging artist within the new contemporary art movements. She has exhibited at a range of venues, from the highly publicized "New York Street Advertising Takeover" to the glitzy and prestigious Miami art fair scene this past December with Taylor & Mackenzie. Laura's bold and playful subjects are attention grabbers with promise as long time media favorites. Kelly Worman, a young and up and coming multi-talented go-getter, has her fingerprints all over the NYC art world - and this is just the beginning. She is well versed in the Chelsea art scene as a gallery director, artist, and curator. She is also currently working on her MFA with a concentration in painting. Unlike art, sleep is an option rather than a necessity for Kelly. She is curating "Introductions" as well as exhibiting her own artwork. Her work is inspired by urban art, human emotion and psychology, industrial development, and the evolution of a woman. The art world has only just seen the beginning of Kelly Worman. Jenny Keith-Hughes, Canadian artist who has mastered a truly unique and impressive technique using acrylic and beeswax, spent her first visit in NYC carrying her portfolio and painstakingly perfect promotional materials in hand walking gallery-to-gallery looking for an outlet for her work. Jump forward one year and she has already exhibited several solo shows with tremendous success. Jenny hopes to grow her success even more and is determined to do just that. Julia Fernandez-Pol, influenced by her father, an Argentine scientist, demonstrates an intellectual yet dreamy display of organic growth, regeneration, and mutation in nature through her artwork. Her painting techniques resemble sculpture in a way that brings forth fascinating three-dimensional details. Julia has participated in several prestigious residencies, which have allowed her to strengthen her techniques to a near perfection. Max Langhurst is a NYC based artist specialized with mixed media. He has mastered the use of highly modern materials such as light, metal, concrete, and plastic. His work cleverly challenges the old and strikes a chord with the new. Max will be exhibiting his much anticipated light cage installation in "Introductions". TOMAAS, born in Hamburg, Germany, moved to NYC to fulfill his dream of living and working in the Big Apple. While he started off working in the corporate world and globe trotting, his travels and experiences awakened his beating childhood passion for photography. He quit the corporate life, went to photography school, and embarked on his career as a fashion photographer. Since then, he has gained international recognition with a substantial clientele. He is represented by a NYC agency and works on high fashion magazine editorials, beauty and advertising campaigns. TOMAAS' trademark style is edgy, vibrant, and dramatic yet subtle. Jena Reed, Taylor & Mackenzie Gallery Owner, is happy to represent her artists in "Introductions". Jena has a business background with close to 10 years of consulting and management experience at a few of the most prestigious firms in the world. She was born and raised in Northern California and comes from a long line of entrepreneurs in her family. From her early childhood she dreamed of following her heart and running her own successful business some day. Her passion for art and business make founding Taylor & Mackenzie a dream come true. Jena is happily married to a young TV producer and has one dog. "Introductions" will be running January 5th through the 29th at 15 East 27th Street, NY, NY 10010. The opening reception is on January 7th from 6 - 9 PM. More information is located on Taylor & Mackenzie's website: http://www.taylormackenzie.com/. # # #
