(PRWEB) February 2, 2006 -- After only one month, SketchFest TV, a video podcast featuring the best sketch comedy from the United States, has reached over 5,000 viewers.

The weekly video show features an MTV style VJ (Stoobe, played by Stefan Lawrence) introducing the best live and video sketches from New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and many other cities in the United States. Since its inception, the show has featured the top sketch groups in the US today, including world premiere sketches seen nowhere else.

Since 1999, SketchFests (sketch comedy festivals) have been popping up all over the country. Along with the original festival in Seattle, annual SketchFests are held in Chicago, San Francisco, Portland, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Toronto. Playing to sold out houses, and critical acclaim, SketchFests are a national phenomenon. SketchFest TV is the first and only SketchFest related product to cater to a national audience.

The show is produced by Mike Balzer in Chicago, and Alexander Zalben in New York City. Mike Balzer is a member of Chicago’s critically acclaimed “The Animal Club,” and on the staff of the IO Theater. Alexander Zalben is a member of New York’s “Elephant Larry,” and the Artistic Director of the Peoples Improv Theater.

It is available in the iTunes Music Store, and all over the web. For more information on this podcast, please check out SketchFestTV.com.
