State of the Union: America Is Addicted To Oil President Bush remarked in his State of the Union Address, “America is Addicted to oil, which is often imported from unstable parts of the world.” The solution is to be found in advancing technology. Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) February 2, 2006 -- In response to President Bush’s State of the Union Address regarding energy, Mark A. Stansberry, President of The International Society of The Energy Advocates, agreed with the President’s remarks: “America is addicted to oil, which is often imported from unstable parts of the world… The best way to break this addiction is through technology.”
“More emphasis must and will be placed in the areas of research and development, along with technological advancements throughout the 21st century. Oklahoma is well positioned through its higher education systems to greatly assist America’s energy industry in advancing these technologies”, Stansberry states.
“Oklahoma and our region of the United States are strategically poised to be America’s leader in energy technology. We should become America’s Center for Energy Excellence. The challenge has been made to the nation, Oklahoma along with our region should take the lead!”
“We must continue to support our state’s vital energy industry. Oklahoma is a true leader in the exploration of natural gas with great companies such as Devon and Chesapeake taking the lead nationally. We must not lose sight of the importance of the U. S. petroleum industry as America makes energy transitions in the years ahead”, Stansberry states.
