Egypt (PRWEB) January 14, 2010 In a country where fatal cancer amongst its youth is a prevalent and daily reality, the international direct selling brand QuestNethas reached out to help strengthen the support and treatment available in Egypt through a donation to the renowned Children’s Cancer Hospital in Cairo. Of Egypt’s 75 million people, an estimated 32 per cent were aged under the age of 14 in 2007. What makes this statistic frightening is that research from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) indicates that one in 300 Egyptian youths will develop cancer before the age of 20. Each year, it is estimated that approximately 8,400 children in Egypt will suffer from cancer and almost half of these children will die due to lack of sufficient treatment and facilities, as well as a lack of advanced technology. QuestNet believes that leadership is the ability to translate intention into reality; it is the act of standing up for what is right, holding fast to the purpose, and espousing positive beliefs. Driven by the motto of RYTHM (Raise Yourself To Help Mankind) and appalled by such mortality rates, the donation is one of QuestNet’s many philanthropic commitments to lead by example as a responsible corporate citizen in order to make a difference in the world by giving back to the communities in which it operates. During a recent QuestNet distributor conference, company delegates took the opportunity to visit the Children’s Cancer Hospital, popularly known as 57357. The hospital is the first state-of-the-art hospital for children with cancer in Egypt and Africa, and is one of the largest pediatric cancer facilities in the world. The hospital has been providing free cancer treatment and medical support to thousands of children from across the region since its official opening on 7 July 2007. It has arguably the most modern facilities of its kind in the North African region. The delegation -- comprised of members from the business development, communications, and training divisions of QuestNet, as well as senior networkers -- was led on a tour of the facilities by Dr Hanaa Farid, who spearheads the hospital’s fundraising programmes. The delegation was privy to the facilities, equipment, processes and systems put in place by the 57357 team to ensure that children with cancer can avail the best in cutting-edge treatment. Through the QuestNet Pays Forward initiative, QuestNet showed full support for 57357’s noble cause by contributing a donation of USD 15,000, in the hope of contributing in some way to ensuring cancer-stricken children in the region have a new chance at life. The cheque was handed to Dr Hanaa Farid at a simple ceremony during the Pathfinder’s Conference. The QuestNet family also pledged to support this worthy cause through volunteerism and a string of other fundraising activities that are to be put in place by the company in 2010. About QuestNet
