Live Music Junkies Have a New Darling... and She's Not a Band

Track50.com lets fans track tour dates for any music artist.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 9, 2006 -- Thanks to Track50, Bay Area music lovers now have one place to track shows for all their favorite bands. How does this new site work? A user enters the bands he likes. When one of those bands is coming to town, he gets an alert. Because Track50 aggregates data from multiple sources, users can track big mainstream names or small local bands.

"Any hard-core fan of live music knows how taxing it can be pouring over calendars for every venue in town -- as well as the heartache that comes after realizing a show has come and gone without one's knowledge", explains CNET Associate Editor Jennifer Guevin. "(Track50) allows users in the San Francisco Bay Area to follow up to 50 of their favorite bands, without so much as picking up a copy of the local weekly."

In addition to tracking favorite artists, fans can browse the most-tracked bands in the user community. And more social application features are expected very soon. Co-founder Jennifer Wasson comments, "Track50 will be evolving into a more interactive and social experience enabling users to review bands and find new bands based on their taste in music."

When asked about national expansion, Wasson responded "We already have users signed up in over 40 states and we’re working furiously to aggregate national tour dates for bands." Wasson expects to have a significant number of bands tracked in most major cities by the end of March 2006. Good news for those who don’t live in the Bay Area!
