MosquitoMax Introduces Notox, an Organic Minimum Risk Pesticide for use in Mosquito Misting Systems Houston based MosquitoMax Misting Systems, the technology leader in chemical injection outdoor mosquito control systems, has raised the bar again by developing a proprietary non-toxic, organic insecticide using rosemary oil as the active ingredient. The soon-to-be released product called Notox is specifically designed for use in their new patent pending “mix on demand” automated outdoor insect control system. With the growing epidemic of west nile virus, consumers are taking more aggressive action to protect their families. Automatic mosquito misting systems have proven to be the only solution that will consistently keep the pests under control. Houston, TX (PRWEB) February 13, 2006 -- According to MosquitoMax founder, Jeff White, similar rosemary based insecticides have been around for a few years, however the older reservoir type misting systems which were originally designed to use low in toxicity Pyrethrum based products on livestock farms have had limited success because they don’t have the ability to keep the mixture agitated enough to produce comparable results.
“Notox works just as well as Pyrethrum in our system and is less expensive”. Safer and less expensive is a good combination in any business model says White who founded MosquitoMax 4 years ago after realizing the industry was longing for better technology. “We know all about reservoir systems because we used to build them. They all have the same limitations. The only thing that differentiates one reservoir system from another is its timer mechanism. The primary mechanical deficiency is that they all must store pre-mixed chemicals for later use. Chemicals naturally want to break down over time which causes inconsistent results. Our system solves this problem and brings with it numerous additional benefits.”
Unique and superior technology - Proper system design, nozzles, fittings, and tubing are virtually the same for all misting systems says White. What sets us apart is our delivery system. The MosquitoMax system injects a controlled amount of concentrated insecticide accurately into an agitation system plumbed to water generating an always fresh, just mixed solution during each spray cycle. Chemicals need to be applied immediately after they are mixed to retain maximum potency. The longer time pre-mixed chemicals are allowed to sit in a drum the more ineffective they become. All older systems use a reservoir (mostly 55 gallon drums) to store the diluted mixture. One of the disadvantages of these systems is that when fluid levels approach the bottom of the drum a float switch shuts down power so the pump will not run dry. When this happens, there’s at least 10% of fluid remaining in the drum that you’ve paid for but cannot use.
How the concept works - Misting systems work by regularly spraying a highly dilute insecticide and water mixture throughout a desired protection area two to three minutes per day at times when mosquitoes are the most active. The misting nozzles are positioned so when the system activates, the area is “crop dusted” with an extremely atomized misting solution which stays suspended in the air for a few minutes. The resting insects are driven out as the mist settles to the ground. The insects are killed when they are actually hit by the spray. The nozzles are connected by small diameter nylon tubing and the fluid is driven out by a high pressure pump.
Consumer benefits - At 1.5 cubic foot in size, the wall-mountable, space-saving design of MosquitoMax not only boasts more effective use of safer insecticides and zero chemical waste, but realizes lower operating costs due to its chemical strength adjustment capabilities. This gives the consumer the ability to use what they need and not be locked in to a standard mixture. White says “One of the benefits we‘ve been able to identify is that in some cases you can use a lower concentration of insecticide and still keep the bugs away. Operating costs are a significant piece of the equation for homeowners considering an insect mist system so it pays to do your homework.”
Internet ready - MosquitoMax has just launched their do-it-yourself mosquito misting and self install web page which includes instructions with pictures on how to design, operate, and service one of their systems. According to White “Most do it yourself sites focus on telling you how easy it is. Some don’t provide pricing and most give you the impression that if you space the nozzles on your fences and eaves that the mosquitoes will instantly disappear. This is simply not the case. We want to give our customers all the tools and information they need to be successful and self-sufficient”.
