New York, NY (PRWEB) February 17, 2006

Eric Smith, Vice President, Artexpo New York, announced today that The Pavilion at Artexpo New York will debut this March 2nd during the world’s 28th annual largest fine and popular art fair, Artexpo New York. This new section of the show will feature highly regarded and established art galleries from around the world. Showcasing more acclaimed artists, The Pavilion promises to deliver a unique collection of twenty galleries with original works never before exhibited at Artexpo New York.

According to Smith, “The Pavilion at Artexpo New York is exactly what consumers have been asking us for; an addition to the most comprehensive fine art experience in the industry, Artexpo New York, which serves the high-end of the retail art market.”

Artexpo New York, the world’s largest premier fine and popular art fair, will hold its 28th annual exposition, March 2-6, 2006 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. This year’s theme, “Big Apple. Big Art.” speaks to the success of last year’s show and the continuing positive momentum in broad fine and popular art segment. Artexpo New York showcases work for all tastes, budgets and styles while offering art for both first-time and experienced buyers, priced from $500 to $50,000. The addition of The Pavilion brings a more prestigious offering to consumers, whether they are looking to begin an art collection, or enhance one.

To celebrate the launch of this new section of the show, The Pavilion will have free admission on Thursday, March 2nd and Friday, March 3rd, which are normally trade only days for Artexpo New York.

More than 40,000 consumers descended upon Artexpo New York during last year’s show with an increase in traffic being sought this year. The Pavilion is designed to bring in a higher end clientele for the upper echelon galleries that will be exhibiting at the show this year.

Over its 28-year history, Artexpo New York has helped propel the careers of some of the finest American artists of the 20th century, including Andy Warhol, Peter Max, Robert Indiana, Leroy Neiman, Robert Rauschenberg, and others who went on to fame and fortune in the art world. Produced by the International Art & Framing Group (IAFG), the largest producer of art shows and art-related publications in the world, Artexpo New York attracts the top galleries, dealers and artists to the Javits Center each year.

Featuring original paintings, photography, sculpture, animation, limited-edition prints and giclees, and decorative art from traditional and cutting-edge artists, Artexpo New York encompasses the entire spectrum of the art world.

“Artexpo New York is the biggest fine art event of the year,” added Smith. “There is no other exposition that offers the range and depth of art that Artexpo New York provides, especially with the addition of The Pavilion.”

Tickets for Artexpo New York are available the day of the show at the Javits Convention Center box office, or at http://www.artexpos.com. Adult tickets are $15 a day; $5 for seniors and students. Children under 12 are free.
