New York, NY (PRWEB) February 22, 2006 -- Yiannos K, a "Neo Conceptual Artist" in thought, expression, and technique relies on his art to ignite passion within the heart, soul and mind of all those who embrace it. In his latest exhibition The Onassis Series, Yiannos K. explores his own Greek-American heritage by focusing on the legacy of the famous Greek shipping magnate, Aristotle Socrates Onassis. The collection consists of twenty-two works and highlights the legendary tycoon’s personal relationships which still captivate the world's imagination today. Yiannos juxtaposes fame with controversy as he celebrates Aristotle’s genius, but also underscores his conflicted relationships with the equally famous women in his life; his second wife, the elegant Jackie O and his mistress, the famed diva Maria Callas. “Aristotle”, Yiannos K. believes, “is the embodiment of our dreams, especially for Greeks.” Yiannos' breathtaking series successfully tells this story, which is as passionate as it is complex.

Yiannos K’s The Celebrity Series which was exhibited at the Bryant Park main tents during Olympus Fashion Week Fall 2006, makes a statement about our culture’s obsession with fame. Through his artistic renderings of pop icons, he shows the other side of fame. These works are about a society where culturally, we become completely immersed in the lives of these modern day icons and believe that we know them personally.”

Both the Onassis Series and The Celebrity Series will be exhibited in various cities around the world beginning with Tokyo this coming Spring 2006. The Series will also be on view at Yiannos K. Gallery at 206 West 23rd Street by appointment only, contact Cherie Hannouche at 212.337.9531 or email yiannoskgallery@gmail.com, and will be traveling to various cities around the world beginning with Tokyo this Spring 2006.
