San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 22, 2006 -- Camille Licchtenstern, a participant in the Academy of Art University, San Francisco’s Saturday Art Experience, has won first place in ARTwire.com’s Celebrity Deface Off competition. Camille, a San Francisco resident, earned a video iPod with her gothic-rock reinterpretation of Marilyn Monroe’s classic subway grate scene from Seven Year Itch.

The Academy of Art’s Saturday Art Experience is open to high school students and represents an excellent opportunity for students to explore their art skills while buildings samples for their art portfolios. All applicants receive a full-tuition scholarship and can select from more than twenty-five classes offered in the program.

ARTwire.com is a community-based website that provides a venue for young artists from around the world. The Celebrity Deface Off competition is the first in a series of ARTwire.com art competitions that will encourage artists to create and share new works.
