Smart for Life™ Cookie Diet Declares War on Fat!

The level of focus and investment of resources should be as high as we have invested in any war. When you are at war the whole nation is focused on success and works together to achieve this goal. Unfortunately we have major food companies who are not pulling our way and they need to join the fight against overweight and obesity.

In Smart for Life™ Cookie Dietfirst newsletter of the year, they declared a war on fat. Smart for Life™ Cookie Diethas tried over the years half-measure and we have fallen way too short. They are fed up and believe the only way to succeed is to go to “WAR”.

The level of focus and investment of resources should be as high as we have invested in any war. When you are at war the whole nation is focused on success and works together to achieve this goal. Unfortunately we have major food companies who are not pulling our way and they need to join the fight against overweight and obesity.

Smart for Life™ Cookie Dietdoes not want more legislation nor protests on the street, but a quite more peaceful change. They say “The victims, if we lose, are you and your children”. The price is early death, heart disease, diabetes, depression and the unhappy feeling when you are overweight. The win is longer life, more activity, less disease and the joy of being thin and healthy. After all “nothing tastes as good as thin feels.”

Smart for Life™ Cookie Dietlikes us all to be soldiers in this war; we are our only weapons. There are many things we can all do to arm ourselves. We have to stop buying poor quality food that is high in fat and sugar. We have to read the labels. If you do not buy them, these companies will not make them. Eat less, eat more often. Increase the amount of green leafy vegetables. Stay away from shelf stable preservative-full foods. Eat preferably natural and organic foods. Exercise on a regular basis (unless you are actively dieting). If you have a medical issue, see your doctor and deal with it. Finally, be an example for your kids and lose weight yourself and eat right.

Working in an emergency room, Dr. Sasshas seen overweight 12 year-olds coming in at the age of 30 with heart attacks. “I have seen the miserable and depressed 16 year-old overweight girls” Dr. Sass.

We are currently on the losing end of this war and you need to join the fight right now. If you need to lose weight, get started. If you don’t, try helping someone who does. If you work for a food company, see what changes you can make. If you are in government, do your part and keep your promises. If you are in show business, lead by example. If you are a health care provider, join the American Society of Bariatric Physicians.
Together, and with hard work, we can win. Never give up!
