Cell Journalist Announces 1ST Annual NCAA Image Contest

Online Photo Syndicate to Award $500 for Best Submission From the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) March 1, 2006 -- Cell Journalist, an online digital image service providing content to news outlets from citizen contributors around the world, today announced a $500 prize for the best submission from the upcoming NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

“We are looking for all types of photos and videos taken at the games,” said Parker Polidor, president of Cell Journalist. “Students and fans are encouraged to send in images and videos of the games, players, fans, behind-the-scenes activities and even the parties and celebrations that follow.”

Students and other interested participants can sign up for the contest at www.ncaa.celljournalist.com. Images and videos can be taken via camera phones or digital cameras and sent to pix@celljournalist.com. The winner will be chosen no later than one week following the last game of the tournament, Polidor said.

“Camera phones and digital cameras are transforming the ways that news is covered and reported,” Polidor said. “Ordinary citizens now have the opportunity to contribute to the news that is important to them, and be compensated for their effort. We think encouraging students to tell their story of the college basketball tournament is a great way to emphasize the spread of citizen news contributors.”
