Robert Sher Joins ConsumerBase New Position Geared Toward Strategic Initiatives Evanston, IL (PRWEB) March 2, 2006 -- Today ConsumerBase announced that Robert Sher, a veteran in the direct marketing industry, has accepted the assignment of Chairman, Board of Advisors. The position was established so that the Advisory Board could streamline long range planning, strategic goals and emerging opportunities for the company, a multi-channel e-marketer.
The move will allow ConsumerBase’s CEO, Larry Organ, to continue his focus on product development and sales while Sher, in an advisory role, provides strategic guidance to the company. Organ approached Sher about playing this role at ConsumerBase because he felt the company would benefit from Sher’s experience, name recognition and industry knowledge.
“Bob Sher has achieved remarkable success in direct marketing. Having him at the helm of our Board of Advisors will be a great advantage to us going forward. I am pleased to see him in such a vital position at ConsumerBase” stated Organ.
Sher’s experience includes the founding of PRIMIS Marketing, an integrated marketing services organization, and KnowledgeBase Marketing, a combination of three direct marketing companies that was purchased by ad agency Young & Rubicam. He has also served as President of Donnelly Marketing, Executive Vice President of Metromail Corporation and has held other executive positions at firms involved with direct marketing.

Sher is a past president of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) Technology and Internet Marketing Council, founding member of the Service Bureau Leaders, past Program Chair of NY Direct Marketing Days and DMA List Day as well as a frequent speaker at DMA conferences and functions. He has lectured at Pace University and New York University and is an honorary Professor of Direct Marketing at Roosevelt University in Chicago.
Sher will begin as Chair, Board of Advisors effective March 1 and work out of ConsumerBase’s Evanston, IL headquarters.
