Vancouver, B.C. (PRWEB) March 3, 2006 -- Paula Skaper has been named president of the International Internet Marketing Association for 2006.
Skaper, president and general manager of e-mail marketing agency Kinetix Media Communications of Vancouver, served as the IIMA’s vice-president and sponsorship chair prior to her appointment.
“I’m honoured to have the opportunity to head this dynamic organization,” she said. “The Internet marketing industry in Vancouver is thriving right now, and through the IIMA, I look forward to raising its profile even further.”
One of the first events she will participate in as president of the Vancouver-based association, which raises awareness about the business value of web-based marketing, is a conference taking place March 27 and 28at UBC Robson Square in Vancouver. It will deal with the future of search engine marketing and effective e-marketing strategies, presented by Barbara Coll of WebMama.
Skaper said such strategies are vital to business success. “E-mail is the most frequently used Internet tool. It’s crucial to communicating with clients.”
Conference speakers include Wayne Carrigan, vice-president, client strategy of e-mail marketing firm ThinData Inc. of Toronto, and Loren McDonald, vice-president of marketing, EmailLabs, a California e-mail marketing technology company.
Skaper founded Kinetix in 2000. Clients include Roland Canada Music Ltd., AAA Western and Central New York, the Pacific National Exhibition, the British Columbia Automobile Association and retailer Please Mum. She is also an e-Commerce instructor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
