Rep. Kay Granger to Author Book Praising American Values

House Republican’s book “What’s Right About America” to be published by World Ahead Publishing this July. Book to be geared toward parents seeking to teach their children about American values.

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) March 2, 2006 -- World Ahead Publishing announced today that it will publish a book on American values by Representative Kay Granger (R-TX) this summer. Titled “What’s Right About America” (World Ahead Publishing; hardcover; ISBN 0977898407), Congresswoman Granger’s forthcoming book is intended for concerned parents who seek to teach their children about the values that have made the United States a beacon of freedom and democracy to the world.

Congresswoman Granger, who represents the 12th district of Texas and serves as the House’s Deputy Majority Whip, will use her book to make a bold statement at a time when children are increasingly being exposed to attacks on traditional values. Each chapter of “What’s Right About America” will bring to life qualities such as compassion, responsibility, and justice by recounting the exploits of George Washington, Martin Luther King, Neil Armstrong, Rosa Parks and other great Americans who embodied those principles.

“Kay Granger is ideally suited to write a book on American values for our nation’s children,” says Eric M. Jackson, the president of World Ahead Publishing. “The congresswoman is a former teacher who has always prioritized education. And as a member of the House’s Defense Appropriations and Human Services-Education subcommittees, she is keenly aware of the challenges our country faces both at home and abroad, giving her a unique perspective on what makes the United States so exceptional.”

An outspoken leader on defense, health care, and education issues, Congresswoman Granger felt compelled to write her book in the wake of the terrorist attacks that killed 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001. Granger -- who was meeting with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to discuss defense issues at the Pentagon the morning it was struck -- believes it is critical that America’s young people understand why the United States is special, especially with their country engaged in a war against terrorists who oppose freedom and justice.

“Given the times in which we live, this book couldn’t be more important,” adds Jackson. “World Ahead is thrilled to be publishing such a special book and excited to be working with a patriot like Congresswoman Granger.”

“What’s Right About America” will be available nationwide in bookstores this July.
