Shopatron Snowsports Sales Up 86% Over last Year Snowsports sales through local retailers soar, aided by the launch of major snowsports brand San Luis Obispo, CA (Vocus) January 29, 2010 Shopatron, the leading provider of retailer-integrated eCommerce for the snowsports industry, today announced that their online snowsports sales have experienced an 86% year-to-year increase for the first half of the 2009/2010 ski season. From September through December, both the number of online shoppers and the number of orders placed on Shopatron snowsports sites increased by over 70%. An 11% increase in average order value was also observed during this period. One reason for this growth is the addition of major snowsports brands this season including the K2 and Ride brands, Never Summer Snowboards, Signal Snowboards, Fera, Hart, Tecnica and Blizzard Sport. Additionally, a number of other brands have already signed on for the 2010/2011 season, including Volkl Ski Company, Rome Snowboards and Ski Tops, featuring the Chaos Hats, CTR and Moonshadow brands. Beginning in September of this year, these companies will be accepting orders from online shoppers and directing those orders to local snowsports retailers for fulfillment. Shopatron now partners with over 50 snowsports brands. A number of these brands are using Shopatron’s Local Search First feature for in-store pickup. Shoppers who select in-store pickup at checkout can be notified in as little as 30 minutes whether their items are available at a local shop. If an order is not immediately available, it can be shipped to the shopper’s home or to the store for pickup at a later date. “With Shopatron, manufacturers can allow shoppers on their website to purchase in order to generate direct sales for their retail partners,” said Ed Stevens, Founder and CEO of Shopatron “And with the addition of in-store pickup, merchants can even use local retailers to enhance the shopper’s buying experience – giving them a place to pick up their items, try them on, and even get advice when needed.” “Our retailers love in-store pickup because it sends paying customers through their door,” continued Stevens. “And with more brands coming onto the platform every month, it’s getting hard for retailers to ignore the opportunity to capture their part of this multi-million dollar online business.” About Shopatron Shopatron, Inc. is the leading provider of global eCommerce solutions for consumer goods manufacturers, allowing its brands to engage consumers with a fantastic experience, from shopping through fulfillment.
