The attacker grabbed the woman from behind, put a knife to her and attempted to drag her into a wooded area. The woman was able to break free and escape the man and managed to flag down a car that was driving by for help. The attack happened at about 7:30 a.m. on January 12 near Four Corners and north Entry roads close to the Staten Island Academy and the Richmond County Country Club. Staten Island residents were not given much notice about the situation involving the attempted rape; in fact, they were alerted about the incident seven days after it happened.
