Microsoft's MSN Adcenter Says 'No Thanks!' to Internet Explorer 7

Microsoft is testing out their new rival to Google Adwords. But won't allow signups from their OWN INTERNET EXPLORER 7 WEB BROWSER!

(PRWEB) March 7, 2006 -- Microsoft's MSN Search Engine is currently in the process of testing out their new MSN Ad Center which aims to compete with the rival online pay per click advertising services of Google Adwords, and Yahoo's Overture service. (You can find out more information about Pay Per Click Advertising (http://www.ppcadvertisingcash.com) at http://www.ppcadvertisingcash.com)

Though only time will tell how the service turns out in the longer term. (If Microsoft's 'usual' release schedule is in place then it should no doubt be an effective rival to Adwords by 2009 ;) )At the moment it seems that Microsoft are once more determined to shoot themselves in the foot.

A while back you may remember the news story that Microsoft had forgotten to renew the Hotmail.com domain name. And that a good samaritan stepped in to remedy the situation by coming up with the $20 or so on Microsoft's behalf. (If memory serves Microsoft refunded the money)

Well, it seems that Microsoft are keen to repeat the blunder... Only this time it isn't a domain renewal (http://www.big-domain-names.com). It is by not allowing access to their own online advertising solution!

On March 6th Microsoft opened the doors to an 'Open Sign Up Day' for the new service at:

https://adcenter.msn.com/Default.aspx

Great so far... However, after trying to sign up for a new account whilst browsing with Microsoft's own Internet Explorer 7 Browser. The glorious message appears;

"MSN adCenter does not currently support the web browser you are using. Please sign in using Internet Explorer 6."
