Jack Heifner’s ‘British’ Comedy Set to Seduce the Midwest

The London-based Shamelessboyz Theatre Company’s production of Jack Heifner’s all male take on La Ronde, seduction… will play Milwaukee and Chicago. The non-equity production which started out on the London fringe had a sell-out run at the 2005 New York International Fringe Festival. Featuring the London cast, seduction…opens at the Milwaukee Gay Arts Center’s Uncommon Theatre in March before moving to Chicago’s Bailiwick Repertory in June.

The two Midwest venues are no strangers to male nudity and should suit seduction… perfectly. They both recently hosted the hit musical revue Naked Boys Singing!. NBS! ran for over 5 years at Bailiwick Repertory, whilst the Uncommon Theatre production in Milwaukee was infamously and unlawfully shut down for a while by Milwaukee Police Department Vice Squad. seduction… cast member Phil Price joined the Milwaukee production after it reopened.

Jack Heifner, Author

Jack Heifner is best known for his play Vanities that ran for over five years in New York and became one of the longest running plays in off-Broadway history.

He is also the author of over thirty other plays including Natural Disasters, Running on Empty, Earth to Bucky, Bargains, Jumping for Joy, Boy's Play, Home Fires, Heartbreak, Comfort and Joy, Key West, The Lemon Cookie, seduction... and others produced in New York, Los Angeles and theatres around the world.

Mr. Heifner has written the book to six musicals including Leader of the Pack on Broadway, for which he received a Tony Award nomination. He has also written for television and film. Currently Mr. Heifner is working on a musical version of Vanities, which opens at TheatreWorks in Palo Alto in June.
