Laguna Niguel, CA (PRWEB) March 12, 2006

The Performers Academy is pleased to announce the addition of David Blair to its already amazing staff of film directors and working actors.

Singing and acting out is very natural to most children. Here at the Performers Academy, children can take that innate expression and run with it. The Performer's Academy offers creative programs allow children to express, create and act out their dreams and fantasies.

Musical Theatre is fun for children. Most of our programs start off with children who have never performed a day in their lives. Quickly you can see the twinkle in their eyes as they learn songs, dances, and the fun of performing with a group in front of a live audience.

The program starts off with Musical Theatre Appreciation Workshops. These programs allow the beginner student the opportunity to learn stage direction, song, dance and auditioning techniques for future auditions.

The program will consist of workshops on Monday & Tuesday evenings. Workshops for ages 5-9 start at 5-6:30; Ages 10-13 at 6:30-8:00 PM and will run for 8 weeks. Workshop will include vocal lessons and choreography by professionals.

From these programs, intermediate and advanced level groups will be formed. All groups will perform for family and friends at the end of session.

The cost of this workshop is $100 per month.

David A. Blair has been passionate about performing arts since he was a child. That passion ha only grown with training and experience. He's a versatile singer and actor and has performed in theatre, musical theatre, opera and recitals. Stage productions include Shakespeare's "Loves Labors Lost", and major roles in "42nd Street", "Me and My Girl", and "Nine".

David's directing experience started while a student at Mt. San Antonio College while working to build an opera program. Currently, David is the assistant director for the Spring musical of The Academy of Arts at Fullerton Union High School.

His philosophy is simple..."to teach musical theatre in a practical way to further the student's understanding and knowledge of Broadway and to help bring out the soul and stage performance through song, dance, acting and living to transform youth and age into timelessness."
