Originally from Colombia's Pacific Coast, a region of the world famed for its influence on the musical genre, Yorleny has grown up within the world of Salsa. At age 13, she began singing backup in Cali, Colombia, eventually becoming lead singer in one of the country's best folkloric exhibition groups Group Folklorico Socavon, touring to Brazil, Panama, and Ecuador.
