"Confessions of a Gangsta" has received a lot of publicity due to the fact that the film's strong sex scenes would probably give the film an NC-17 rating. The filmmakers have received offers to remove the auction which is set for Sunday,March 19th. One urban themed distributor who specializes in inner city theme films is said to be in negotiations with the filmmakers.

The film's Director Collin Camino Gravsande was quoted as saying, "It was a great process making this film and we still plan to go ahead with the auction, this film will be distributed by the company that really embraces this film,we made the film for about $200,000 dollars and any buyer will make their money back and a big profit in the first day. We also have a second script that will be an even bigger film that we may offer to the buyer of "Confessions of a Gangsta."
