What: On February 24, Waste Diversion Ontario will consider whether a longstanding and successful industry-sponsored recycling program will be selected to recycle all household batteries in Ontario effective July 1, 2010. This move will financially and operationally affect hundreds of retailers, businesses, municipalities and manufacturers operating in Ontario. In the past decade, Call2Recycle has recycled more than 800,000 kilograms of batteries in Ontario, serving as the leading authority on battery recycling programs.
