Domestically Challenged Author Gives Back By Aligning With National Charity

Mom Author Alana Morales Aligns With National Charity to Help At Risk Teens.

Gilbert, AZ (March 25, 2006) – Alana Morales, author of Domestically Challenged - A Working Moms Survival Guide to Becoming a Stay at Home Mom, is pleased to announce her alliance with the national charity Be The Star You Are!

Be the Star You Are! is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that collects and distributes books and other positive media to youth at risk as a way to raise their life skills and self esteem. Run by author, actress and TV host Cynthia Brian, the charity was a natural choice for Morales.

“As a former teacher, literacy is still at the forefront of my mind and if being an author offers me a way to help out, then I’m going take advantage of that” states Morales. “I’m honored to be associated with a charity that not only helps youths, but gets them involved in helping others. I like that they encourage teens to get involved in the literacy movement in their communities.”

A portion of the proceeds from each book sale will be donated to benefit Be The Star You Are! The charity recently donated over $27,000 in books to children affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Morales, a former high school English teacher, wrote Domestically Challenged as a humorous guidebook to help new at home moms survive the transition. “I’m really pleased that I was able to find a charity that focuses on the importance of reading and encourages kids to read. It kind of brings it full circle for me – I have a book to help moms and by buying the book they can help kids too.”
