Laila Ali Fight in Dubai Cancelled Discord with Event’s Promotional Company Cited for Cancellation of April Bout Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 27, 2006 -- Undisputed Super Middleweight and Light Heavyweight boxing champion Laila Ali’s upcoming fight versus Gwendolyn O’Neil, scheduled to take place April 27, 2006 in Dubai, UAE, has been officially canceled due to a breach of contract from the promotional company.
Ali, who agreed to the Dubai fight in early February, and has been in training camp ever since, is disappointed with the cancellation and hopes the fight can be rescheduled in the near future.
“This is an unfortunate situation because I was looking forward to defending my titles in Dubai,” said Laila Ali. “This is not only a big let down to me, but also to my fans and the people in Dubai who have been extremely supportive of me. Hopefully, I will have another opportunity to fight in Dubai in the near future under different circumstances.”
