Hospital 'Leaders in Action' National Award and Scholarship

Three extraordinary individuals will receive the TMIT Leaders in Action national award and scholarship in recognition for their servant leadership in quality and safety at their hospital. Recipients will be selected based on recommendations by their peers and leaders of their organization. They will receive tuition and expenses to participate in the Safety Officer Executive Development Program offered by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) September 2006.

(PRWEB) March 30, 2006 -- Three extraordinary individuals will receive the TMIT Leaders in Action national award and scholarship in recognition for their servant leadership in quality and safety at their hospital. Recipients will be selected based on recommendations by their peers and leaders of their organization. They will receive tuition and expenses to participate in the Safety Officer Executive Development Program offered by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) September 2006. All travel and expenses will be provided. Further, TMIT will also provide multimedia development for patient safety programs developed by the recipient when they return to their hospital bringing the value of the award to more than $30,000.

Physicians, nurses, administrative staff and leaders involved in quality and safety are eligible to apply or be nominated. A panel of national experts will select awardees based on the values and behaviors observed by their peers and leaders of their organizations. Applicants or nominees must articulate how receipt of the scholarship will impact the quality and safety of the care delivered in their organization. Applications are being accepted between the dates of March 25 and June 1, 2006.
