VideoSift: The Best of YouTube and Google Video

New online video sharing site receives 1 million page views in first 5 weeks of operation.

Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia (PRWEB) March 30, 2006 -- VideoSift, an online video sharing community started 6 weeks ago in Australia has quickly become one of the fastest growing online communities on the net.

"The amazing response to VideoSift has taken us by surprise" commented marketing manager Brian Houston. "We expected it to be popular, but we weren't prepared for a million page views in a little over a month. We've already had to upgrade our servers twice".

The idea behind VideoSift is simple: provide an interface to allow easy video submission, viewing and voting by the online community -- the best videos are "sifted" to the top of the front page. "The basic technology behind VideoSift, was pioneered by the popular IT news site Digg.com" commented IT manager James Roe. "We took this idea and applied it to video".

Although VideoSift was started in Australia, the majority of users come from the US and Europe. Further internationalization is planned with a Japanese version coming next.
