Bridge-Linguatec Partners with Zhejiang Yuexiu University in China to Implement Programs for English Language Instruction

The partnership will establish a BridgeEnglish™ language center on Yuexiu University campus and develop opportunities for Yuexiu’s students to learn English in the United States and to attend American universities.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) February 26, 2010

The Denver-based language training center BridgeEnglish recently established a partnership with Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages (ZYUFL) in China. The partnership will establish a BridgeEnglish™ language center on the ZYUFL campus, bring new approaches to language teaching, implement the recruitment of highly trained and qualified teachers to Yuexiu, and promote study abroad exchange between Yuexiu University students and Bridge partner universities in the United States.

Bridge is uniquely qualified for this program given its international reach and experience in managing language centers overseas. In addition, Bridge’s teacher training division BridgeTEFL™ will provide teacher certification and recruitment of English teachers from the United States for this partnership.

“Bridge is very encouraged by the enthusiasm we’ve received from our partner universities in the United States for receiving Chinese students from ZYUFL. Under such partnerships, BridgeEnglish™ students are given conditional admission to American universities upon demonstrating Bridge Level 5 proficiency for undergraduate studies and Bridge Level 6 proficiency for graduate level studies," said Jean-Marc Alberola, President of Bridge.

Dr. Edward Shi, Director of the International Admissions Office at Colorado Technical University, affirmed that “BridgeEnglish is one of the few training centers nationwide in the United States which offers first-class ESL instruction including such resources as original materials, native-speaking teachers, and a decent learning environment, all of which benefit the trainees as well as the university.” He also noted that “ZYUFL is the first university setting up cooperation with international-class language institutions in Zhejiang Province.”

Dr. Wu Guoliang, Executive President of ZYUFL, explains the importance of this partnership with Bridge: “With this partnership in place, Yuexiu’s students will be eligible for acceptance at more than 40 universities in the United States, a significant step toward offering more opportunities for Chinese students to study abroad.”
