Premium Sake Brand Goes On Tour With Dynamic Asian/American Synth-Pop Rockers The synergy between American brewed premium sake and Asian/American synth-pop rockers, The Slants, will light up the West this March with the band's Pageantry Tour hitting cities across the Rocky and Pacific states. Forest Grove, OR (PRWEB) March 2, 2010 Big, bold, high energy, a little brash and loaded with fun is the only way to describe the fusion of Asian Synth-Pop rockers The Slants, and Oregon craft brewed G Sake as they join forces for The Pageantry, a March tour in support of the new CD released under the same name. The tour kicks off March 11th in Sacramento, CA and winds its way through California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Utah and Oregon. On bottle and social media promotions will support the new CD release along with the tour. Special bottle tags highlight a free download of a new but unreleased song from The Slants and the band will be giving away G Sake “Drink Sake Not Bombs” t-shirts at their shows. The synergy continues as the band plays a free acoustic set at an Austin, TX Spec’s store (4978 W US 290 SVC Rd, Austin, Texas 78735) during SXSW as free G Sake tastings are offered to guests 21 and over. The free show is March 18 at 5 pm. “All we can say is that these guys rock, and while that is a bit cliché it’s simply true. Their shows are dynamic, full of character and never disappointing. They so perfectly reflect the G brand that it really was an easy decision to support their tour. It’s a perfect match, a melding of cultures, ideas and energy that has brought us together out of respect for each other's hard work. This is an ideal partnership and we're proud to help bring The Slants to their fans.” – SakeOne Vice President of Marketing, Dewey Weddington. “They've been described as “"Chinatown dance rock,"” but the Slants are far from a novelty act,” writes The Stranger, Seattle’s alt-rock weekly magazine. NPR’s All Things Considered states that “"It's tempting to peg the Slants in some existing Asian genre: Canto-pop, J-Metal, Viet Core....but they're not quite that simple." In case you haven’t heard, The Slants are an Asian synth-pop band that have been melting faces off all over the country. Since the creation of the band, The Slants have toured the country eight times, received press for turning down a million dollar recording contract as well as being banned from a venue in Portland, Oregon due to breathing fire, and were the first and only Asian band to be a Fender Music featured artist. “When pulling in support for our band, we're careful to make sure that it's a brand that we feel strongly about ourselves. We chose to work with G Sake for a number of reasons: like the band, G Sake is cool, cutting edge, and has a kick, not to mention that we're huge fans of the sake and the people behind the sake are fans of ours. Both The Slants and G Sake have carved a unique niche in our respective industries, both brought in the best of Eastern and Western cultures. It was only a matter of time until we started working together.” – Simon Young, Bass Player, The Slants To carry the music further, out to the rest of the country, The Slants and G Sake have partnered to offer a free MP3 download. Details are on G bottles starting in mid March and will be randomly available on FaceBook (Momokawa Sake) and Twitter (@SakeOne). The new, previously unreleased song is a unique offering to saké sippers everywhere.
