Valencia, CA (PRWEB) April 6, 2006 -- Hot Yoga Valencia has teamed up with Mentors For Youth to help raise money for their newest endeavor “Project New Hope”. Mentors For Youth is a non-profit residential care program serving the needs of abused, neglected and at-risk children. Mentors For Youth has been in existence since 2001 and they are expanding their services to meet the needs of abused, neglected and at-risk youth here in the Santa Clarita Valley.

During the month of April (National Child Abuse Prevention Month), anyone who makes a donation of $20 or more to Mentors For Youth will receive a gift certificate good for 10 consecutive days of yoga classes at Hot Yoga Valencia. “With April being National Child Abuse Prevention Month, I really wanted to help make a difference in the lives of the children in our community that have been abused and neglected,” says Christopher Kashap, Owner and Director of Hot Yoga Valencia. “In Southern California we are so focused on taking care of our bodies, why not take care of our bodies and help somebody else,” adds Kashap.

“We are delighted that Hot Yoga Valencia is being so generous,” says Lisa Brand, Director of Development, of Mentors For Youth. Donors can use the Gift Certificate for themselves, or share it with their friends. According to Brand, Some donors make two donations, so they can take a friend along with them to Hot Yoga. “I do hot yoga with my friend, so I really encourage people to find a friend and give Hot Yoga a try. Yoga is for everyone and is a lot of fun when shared with a friend,” adds Brand.

Mentors For Youth is licensed by the California State Department of Social Services providing 24-hour care and treatment to children in need. “Project New Hope” will provide new hope to children that have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. “As a police officer, I saw firsthand the problems with ‘the system’, and wanted to create a place where at-risk children would receive guidance, support and the care that they so desperately need,” Sean McCune, Founder and Executive Director, Mentors For Youth. “I am a long time resident of the Santa Clarita Valley and wanted to extend our services to meet the needs of our at-risk youth, and keep them out of ‘the system’, with ‘Project New Hope’, we will end the cycle of abuse and have a positive effect directly for the children and families involved and indirectly on society as a whole,” adds McCune.

Donations can be made at Mentors For Youth, Hot Yoga Valencia and at various locations throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. Donations can also be made via US Mail, Mentors For Youth 29033 Ave Sherman Suite 213 Valencia, CA 91355.
