Longwood Software's TagTeam Now Eliminates Danger of Outdated Pricing and Product Information New TagTeam notification facility helps busy marketers stay on top of content and ensures that pricing and promotional offers are kept up-to-date. In addition to lightening marketers’ work loads and reducing concern about outdated materials, this new capability ensures that pricing information and promotional offers are kept up-to-date on multiple web sites, which is essential for effective selling.
The new feature allows marketers to set a warning date and an expiration date for each marketing and sales asset in their TagTeam system. As the expiration date approaches, TagTeam sends a warning message to the TagTeam administrator and content owner to alert them of this status. On the expiration date, TagTeam then disables viewing of the item by others.
“Our customers told us that, in a perfect world, every item on their marketing intranet and partner extranet would have an expiration date on it. Without this, it’s impossible for them to stay on top of what is current and what isn’t,” said Scott Richardson, President of Longwood Software. “To make this ideal a reality for our customers, we added a powerful item expiration feature to TagTeam so users can be confident that the marketing materials being accessed by their sales force or partners are always up-to-date. This is particularly critical with price lists and time-based promotional offers.”
“We do a lot promotions and it’s especially challenging to keep track of which promotional materials need to be discontinued and the date when they should no longer be sent out,” said Jackie Odom, a TagTeam customer in the Corporate Marketing Department of Essilor, the world’s leading provider of eyeglass lenses. “A big worry is that outdated promotional materials may still be in our library after a specific promotion ends. TagTeam’s new feature solves this problem. This is going to save me a tremendous amount of work.”
The typical TagTeam customer has 250 to 5,000 items in their marketing library – a huge number to keep track of manually. Having the ability to automatically hide outdated literature provides marketers with the confidence that expired content will never be distributed and with the ability to better control their marketing asset inventories.
TagTeam’s new feature allows users to identify different contacts for different materials. For example, product managers can be added as contacts to be notified when pricing sheets are about to expire, so they can update them. “It’s not just about keeping literature fresh, it is also about liability,” said Longwood’s Richardson. “Many manufacturers are obligated by their distributors to ensure that outdated price lists are removed so that sales reps are not quoting old prices to customers.”
Combined with other recently-added functionality, TagTeam now supports much more complex data management scenarios than ever before.
