Flight Miniatures Launches New Route – Destination: Metal Die-Cast Models

Flight Miniatures, a long time leader in plastic snap-fit collectible aircraft models, has added a new destination to its expanding flight plans for sale and distribution – InFlight 200 Metal Die-Cast Models! Now boarding at http://www.flightminiatures.com, flight crews are standing by.

Cottonwood, AZ (PRWEB) April 7, 2006 -- Earlier this year, Flight Miniatures joined in partnership with InFlight 200, the leading producer of fine quality 1:200 scale metal die-cast aircraft models. Effective April 2006, Flight Miniatures is the exclusive North American distributor for the InFlight 200 model line.

InFlight 200 produces metal die-cast aircraft models in 1:200 scale only, not the typical 1:400 or 1:500 scale models that are usually seen, and specializes in commercial airliner models that accurately represent the paint schemes of airlines worldwide, both past and present.

The excellent quality of the InFlight 200 model is quite evident. The main model is made of a zinc and aluminum metal alloy. All liveries are applied by state-of-the-art tampo printing using high-gloss color-matched paint. The models also feature many fine touches in realistic and accurate detail, such as antennae and landing gear with rubber tires that roll. The 747 models even have nose landing gear that rotates, along with spinning fan-blades in the engines. Each model is packaged encased in molded Styrofoam and a rigid corrugated cardboard box. All new releases include a keepsake full-color printed outer sleeve.

These models are highly collectible as they are produced in strictly limited editions. Up to this point, model production runs have been 200 to 400 pieces worldwide. Moreover, out-of-stock models are not re-issued; if the same aircraft type and livery are to be produced again a different aircraft registration will be used.

Currently available die cast models include Boeing 707-320, 747-100, 747-200, 747-400, and Douglas DC-8-62 in various airline liveries. Other aircraft types that will soon be available include the Boeing 737-200, 727-200, and the Douglas DC-9.

As an introduction, Flight Miniatures is offering the remaining inventory of models InFlight 200 has produced to date. Going forward, Flight Miniatures will take delivery of all new production models for the North American market, making them available to resellers in North America and retail customers worldwide.

Flight Miniatures is very excited about their partnership with InFlight 200. They feel that the 1:200 scale metal die-cast models are a natural complementary offering with their current plastic snap-fit models, filling the gaps in each product line.
