Novel Anticipated Discovery of Judas Gospel A novel already in stores predicted the Judas manuscript recently unveiled. Naperville, IL (PRWEB) April 9, 2006--Georgiann Baldino’s current novel, The Acts of Judas, speculates that the discovery of a scroll, written from the perspective of Judas Iscariot, would create controversy and evoke strong reactions. But Georgiann wrote her novel several years before this week’s news that National Geographic Society had unveiled a Coptic manuscript about Judas. Like the ancient scroll, recently authenticated, her fiction speculates that Jesus must have forgiven the world’s most infamous traitor. Her fictional gospel echoes sentiments similar to those expressed in the current discovery and other early Gnostic texts.
Georgiann set her story against the climate of today’s tension instead of using a backdrop similar to the way the authentic ancient papyrus was preserved. Reviewer and Interviewer Kevin Tipple, says “On one level The Acts of Judas is a thriller featuring chase and adventure across the Middle East, along with a hint of romance. On another level, this is a complex work that provides a deep insight into the religious differences in the region that shape behavior and politics still today. Using her extensive research into various religions via a number of sources, the author explains the religious and cultural history of a large portion of the Middle East while at the same time telling an engrossing story.”
The Acts of Judas is Georgiann Baldino’s third published novel. She has also published numerous short stories and nonfiction articles. A full list of published credits and biography can be found at http://home.comcast.net/~gbaldino/presskit.pdf
