This custom M4 built on a West-Tek Arms lower not only has great looks because of it custom Duracoat camo finish, it is also practical because of the great job WTA’s gunsmith Charlie “The Word” Byrd did in the construction of this fine weapon. Having an AR-15 platform, the rifle is fitted with an A.R.M.S Swan Sleeve with its integrated rear flip-up sight. The weapon is equipped with a Leupold Scout Scope, one of the finest available optics on the market. Practical comes into play when Mr. Byrd added a Ergo rail system to the standard hand guard so the proud owner can add a “practical” forward grip or light system of his or her choice. Oh, yes, did I mention that it also has a chrome lined barrel with a standard AR front sight.

How did it perform? It sent 30 rounds down range right out of the gate without any malfunctions or hiccups. It also helps that the weapon came with two new 30-round Kay Industries mags with green followers that are camoed to match. Using 55 grain military ball ammo, I was able to keep a one inch group at 100 yards and drastically tightened when I fed and sent Federal Premium rounds down range.
