Internet Broadcasting Sets Fourth Traffic Record In Five Months

13.3 million visitors came in March 2006 - a 19 percent year-over-year increase.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) April 14, 2006 -- Internet Broadcasting, the nation’s largest national platform of TV station web sites, today announced a record 13.3 million visitors in March 2006 -- its fourth record in the last five months. In-depth online local coverage of news and weather events as well as referrals from other web sites contributed to the record – a 19 percent year-over-year increase. Internet Broadcasting produces 73 TV station web sites for America’s premier broadcasters: NBC, Cox Broadcasting, Hearst-Argyle, The McGraw Hill Companies, Post-Newsweek, Scripps Howard, and Capitol Broadcasting Company.

The 13.3 million visitors, as measured by Nielsen//NetRatings, exceeded the company’s previous high of 12.98 million visitors set in January 2006 and places Internet Broadcasting ahead of notable news publishers like Knight Ridder Digital, ABC News, Digital, and CBS News Digital Network. Additionally, the record traffic made Internet Broadcasting the 46th largest online brand overall as measured by Nielsen’s U.S. brand rankings for March.

“This record is an outcome of our focus on quality content,” said Julie Burrows, Internet Broadcasting’s executive vice president. “With editors in the newsroom at partner TV stations, we offer continuously updated, relevant content which has gained the trust of consumers. As our traffic climbs, we continue to attract the attention of blue chip advertisers and interactive agencies looking for innovative ways to reach our highly desirable demographic.”

The visitor total represents an aggregation of users across Internet Broadcasting’s national platform of 73 TV station web sites including WNBC.com (New York), NBC4.tv (Los Angeles), and TheBostonChannel.com.
