He is now blogging at http://www.bitsonbroadband.com. Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 18, 2010 Fred Campbell offers his comments on the National Broadband Plan released Tuesday by the FCC. Mr. Campbell is the founder of FBC Enterprises LLC, President and CEO of the Wireless Communications Association International (WCAI), and an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska College of Law. He previously served as Wireless Bureau Chief at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and as Wireless Legal Advisor to FCC Chairman Kevin Martin. Mr. Campbell posted his initial reaction to the plan on his new blog, Bits on Broadband.
“The plan recommends that the FCC ‘move forward promptly in the open proceeding on data roaming.’ If implemented well, data roaming could prove to be a successful policy," Mr. Campbell said. "However, if a data roaming requirement were implemented without regard to spectrum holdings (i.e., without a ‘home roaming exception’), such regulation would actually discourage infrastructure-based competition.” Mr. Campbell will continue to post additional in-depth analysis of the FCC’s National Broadband Plan in the coming days on Bits on Broadband (http://www.bitsonbroadband.com).
