The performance at Mac's is one of the highlights of a tour including among other dates, engagements in Albany, Watertown CT, Danbury, CT and Manhattan. The Jen Elliott April/May tour will be supported by a radio program targeting top independent and college radio stations throughout North America. Radio promotion will be handled by veteran radio promoter, The Planetary Group, based In Boston, MA.
Jen Elliott-- who grew up in Jacksonville, FL but now lives in Manhattan-- was raised on traditional gospel and she still writes and sings straight from her soul...but now it's rock n' roll that is her first love. Her debut album with her band Bluestruck, THE SECRET'S OUT, received Top 30 college radio airplay and critical acclaim from the press nationwide. Jen has been featured in issues of Entertainment Today, The Downtown Express, The Sun Herald, Inside Connection and Keyboard Magazine. To date, the band has performed at the Black Potatoe Festival 2005, NY Auto Show 2005, GoGirls Elite Showcase 2004, headlined at the Global Entertainment & Media Summits 2003/2004. Jen continually performs at top venues in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut and have opened for Nils Lofgren, The Little River Band, and Nine Days.
The Velmas - bassist Todd “Figaro” Minnick, guitarist Mike “Harvey” Grosshandler and drummer Michael “Bruce” Bruce - are three singers and songwriters creating powerful rock music. Their sound is influenced by old-school to modern rock, punk, reggae, and even country and classical. In concert, the Velmas back their music with a playful, high-energy live show, which is the reason why they are adored by their upstate fans, the devoted "Velmites".
