Philadelphia, Pa. (PRWEB) April 27, 2006 -- Mitchell & Ness will pay tribute to Babe Ruth on April 28th at Chicago’s historic Wrigley Field where they will give away 100 authentic Mitchell & Ness 1932 New York Yankees road jerseys (retail value $225) to some very lucky fans. The event, which marks the first of the Wrigley Field Historical Series, honors Babe Ruth’s celebrated “called shot” which took place in 1932 at Wrigley Field.
Ruth’s 88-year old daughter, Julia Ruth Stevens, and her son, Tom Stevens, will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch and to lead the 7th inning stretch. Mitchell & Ness owner, Peter Capolino, will also be present for the festivities.
The celebration comes at a pivotal time in baseball history, as San Francisco slugger Barry Bonds closes in on Ruth’s longstanding home run record.
