Rush Tracking Systems to Introduce RFID-Enabled Arcade Games at RFID Journal LIVE! 2006 Rush Tracking Systems, an RFID systems integrator based in metropolitan Kansas City, will introduce the world’s first RFID-enabled arcade games on the exhibition hall floor at the RFID Journal LIVE! 2006 Conference in Las Vegas, May 1-3. LENEXA, KS (PRWEB) April 28, 2006 -- Rush Tracking Systems, an RFID systems integrator based in metropolitan Kansas City, will introduce the world’s first RFID-enabled arcade games on the exhibition hall floor at the RFID Journal LIVE! 2006 Conference in Las Vegas, May 1-3.
The arcade games, dubbed RFID@PLAY, offer both football and golf versions. Before playing either game, attendees will swipe their RFID-tagged show badges to enable the system to track their scores.
To play the RFID-enabled football toss, attendees will throw an RFID-tagged football into one of three holes, scoring the most points for the smallest hole. The system will record which hole the ball goes through and keep track of the attendee’s total score for five attempts. The current high individual score will be displayed throughout the day.
Rush Tracking Systems engineers designed the golf game for putting at three levels of difficulty, with the system awarding higher scores as the putts become harder. After players swipe their RFID-tagged show badges, the RFID system will track their scores and display the highest score throughout the day.
Rush Tracking Systems will link data from the games to aggregate attendee data to demonstrate how RFID can be used to create a wide variety of reports, using middleware provided by BEA Systems. For example, reports will show how the game scores of attendees from large companies differ from those of attendees from smaller companies. They will also demonstrate how systems integrators fare against end users or vendors, among other types of reports. Symbol Technologies will supply their XR400 RFID interrogator and tags for the games.
“I was intrigued by the concept of this project,” said Toby Rush, president of Rush Tracking Systems. “Besides being fun for the conference attendees, it will also demonstrate some of the capabilities of an RFID system. I think the attendees will have as much fun playing the games as we had putting them together.”
Each attendee who plays the RFID-enabled games at the Rush Tracking Systems arcade will receive an RFID Journal hat, and his or her name will be entered into a random drawing to win one of two flat-screen TVs donated by Hewlett Packard.
