T. F. Rice explains on the back cover of her book why she wrote The City/Country Poet’s Guide to Old Forge, New York: Memories of Great Times: “My wish as a writer is for you to have many happy times in the Adirondack wilds and preserve those memories well before they slip away, as I have done in the publishing of this book. I read somewhere that another writer said… if they didn’t write they would explode, and so it is… a sort of love/hate relationship with my pen…and the world! You and I are so hard on ourselves that we are left with no quiet, no safe retreat. Ah! But the peace is there if we only look for it, in this and so many other special places… may you genuinely enjoy your time in Old Forge, New York! Blessings, T. F. Rice”

ABOUT AUTHOR T. F. Rice now lives with her family in Upstate New York, after moving more than twenty times in her youth. The choice between city and country life was not an easy one for her, but the country life has its charms and she has fallen hard. Husband of ten years, red-headed boy and Siberian Husky pal make a full house… and Rice says escapes to Old Forge, New York complete the years well.
This poet is only just getting started, though she has been writing all her life. In 2002, Rice co-organized an anthology for writer’s group Wyoming Writes, titled Seasonings For Life, which included some of her poetry. Look for a book on Fibromyalgia coming later this year: Scars You Can’t See. In the summertime, Rice also works on her novel, perfecting a fictional story she isn’t quite ready to tell. “I can’t bring myself to end it yet,” Rice explains, “I love the living in the details part too much to part with it just yet.”
