Eagle Nest Lodge, located in Deer River near Grand Rapids, Minnesota, is pleased to announce their season grand opening on the weekend of May 12, 2006, just in time for the Minnesota fishing opener. Eagle Nest Lodge is also pleased to announce some recent additions to the resort and seasonal specials.

Eagle Nest Lodge is going online with wireless Internet access in the main lodge. Guests are welcome to come up and get connected. Eagle Nest Lodge is also connecting with kids with a new kids’ web site (http://www.eaglenestlodge.net/kids) that includes fun activities for kids to do online and to print out to enjoy in the car trip to the Lake Winnie Area.

Resort owner, Bryan Harris says, “We have created an online space for kids to get excited about their vacation. One of our kids’ games asks kids to identify fish. It’s an activity that fits well with the naturalist programs that we have at the resort.”

Finally, Eagle Nest Lodge announces the arrival of an early spring. Resort owner, Sue Harris says, “We’ve already seen a glimmer of summer here in the Grand Rapids area. The ice went out on April 14th from Cutfoot Sioux and Lake Winnibigoshish (Lake Winnie) on April 15th. That’s nearly 2 weeks earlier than normal. We can feel the excitement for the opener...campers are lining up at the gates of the federal campgrounds waiting for them to open.”
