(PRWEB) May 8, 2006 -- Dark Light Pictures recently wrapped production on a international commercial campaign for shipping giant DHL and Paramount Pictures. Principal photography took place in Hong Kong, China and in several locations around the Los Angeles area.
Created by Dark Light in collaboration with Paramount Worldwide Marketing Partnerships and motion picture advertising specialists, Aspect Ratio, the DHL campaign was based upon the idea of linking the daunting mission of a DHL courier entrusted with an important package of film, with action scenes from Paramount’s blockbuster Mission Impossible 3.
Tied into the Paramount Pictures release of Mission Impossible III, the campaign required multiple complicated stunts and action sequences, culminating into an end sequence in which the DHL delivery man parachutes down from a plane over the city of Hong Kong, as a crowd of thousands follow his descent, with all eyes turned skyward. With the film safely delivered just in the nick of time, scenes from Mission Impossible III begin to play, projected across the cityscape of Hong Kong itself, to the delight of the awaiting crowd.
Directed and photographed by Caleb Deschanel (Director of Photography for such visual timepieces as The Black Stallion and Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ) the campaign sought to combine the reliability, trustworthiness and steadfast delivery of DHL shipping with the high-tech excitement of the Mission Impossible trifecta.
