Gibraltar Software announces the launch of the Everguard™ patch management system.

Sunnyvale, CA May 6, 2002. Gibraltar Software today announced that it has completed extensive beta testing and has released for general sale its flagship vulnerability tracking and management appliance, the Everguard™ system.

Gibraltar Software’s core engineering team, understanding that network administrators have neither the staff nor the bandwidth to manage every server, laptop and desktop for open vulnerabilities, set out to produce the most comprehensive patch management solution available. They came up with the Everguard™ system, an easy to deploy, multi platform, enterprise wide, hardened appliance based patch management system and service.

“This new product will not only give network system administrators the ability to keep up to date on all of the latest vulnerability announcements”, says Graham Hine, founder and CEO of Tuxtops, Inc, “it also gives them a clear path in deployment of those patches to the vulnerable machines”.

Until now, vulnerability patch management products focused solely on Microsoft products, and while Gibraltar Software has included Microsoft vulnerabilities into its master database, other mainstream operating systems also need patching. The Everguard™ system currently manages operating systems from Linux, Solaris and Microsoft, with plans in place to incorporate other operating systems as well as network devices, such as routers and switches.

The Everguard™ system customers also benefit from its software and hardware management capabilities. This feature gives the network administrator one more necessary check and balance feature in the overall security health of their network.

Founded early last year, Gibraltar Software has spent the last 12 months developing the most comprehensive, scalable, robust, vulnerability tracking and management solution to date. For information security professionals looking to close off access points through operating system vulnerabilities, there is no better bet than the Everguard™ solution.
