SALES-FAX NEWS Finds Industry Turnaround at the 2010 NY Auto Show

New Electrics and Hybrids Highlight a Bright Sales Forecast.

New York (PRWEB) April 8, 2010

If the outlook in automotive was dismal in 2009, the 2010 New York International Show shines with a robust line-up of new electric and hybrids. $ALE$-FAX NEWS attended the show during press previews, and got a look at what car buyers will be talking about in the new model year.

An optimistic keynote speech by Ford CEO Alan Mulally was followed by displays of the new all-electric Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt, as well as its hybrid, the Chevy Cruze Eco. Ford and Lexus also launched new hybrids, and Hyundai entered the luxury sedan category with its feature-packed Equus, which comes with an industry-first wireless tablet. Many other new vehicles made news at the show as well. A total of 18 new hybrids and all-electric vehicles are expected to be offered on showroom floors this year.

Industry statistics may be encouraging. According to Motor Intelligence, car and light truck (which includes crossovers and SUVs) March 2010 sales were up 22.6% and 26.1% respectively, over last year, and forecasting company J.D. Power & Associates predicts further sales increases in the latter part of 2010 and in 2011.

The Auto Show has approximately 1,000 vehicles on display, and is expected to receive
one million visitors. It runs through Sunday, April 11th. R.G.
