Laser Surgeon's Patriotic Vision - Free Lasik Surgery for U.S. combat forces

(PRWEB) May 17, 2006 -- There is little doubt that Dr. Joseph Dello Russo is among a handful of New York City medical personalities who've risen to near-cult status, in his case through the use of advertising and promotion.

One of the first surgeons in the Northeast to complete training in the use of Lasik equipment, he's built a vision-correction dynasty, including centers run by two of his three sons.

These days, the doctor has been operating for free on any combat-bound servicemen and women who show up at his door. "I'm a little bit patriotic," says Dr. Dello Russo.

The doctor never served in the military himself.

"They had a year to draft me for Vietnam when they were taking doctors in 1967, and they didn't get me, so this is my way of helping out," he says.
