New Cassadaga Festival Slated For This Saturday

The new and expanded Cassadaga Festival, formerly known as Gala Day, is scheduled for Saturday May 20, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Known throughout the world as a center for Spiritualists, psychic mediums and healers, Cassadaga is throwing a party and everyone is invited. The small town of Cassadaga is home to the Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association, the oldest continuously operating religious community in the Southeastern U.S.

Cassadaga, Florida (PRWEB) May 19, 2006 -- Located in Central Florida and a designated Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places, the whole town of Cassadaga turns out to welcome visitors and friends to enjoy a day of fun in a small town, Mayberry-like atmosphere on Saturday, May 20.

Gala Day was initially a semi-annual celebration to open and close the Camp for the winter season. The new name, Cassadaga Festival, better reflects the festive feelings evoked by the arts and crafts vendors, music, food, walking tours of the Camp, mini-readings by Certified Mediums and informational talks featured during the Cassadaga Festival.

Cassadaga is known the world over as a Mecca of sorts for Spiritualists, psychic mediums and healers. Founded in 1894 by George Colby as a winter retreat where Spiritualists could live and work together in a warm environment of peace and beauty, present-day Cassadaga offers all that and more.

Certified Mediums available for readings are listed daily in the Camp Welcome Center and Bookstore in the A. J. Davis Building, hub of many of the activities available on a daily basis. Mediums, Healers and Spiritualist Ministers are certified after satisfactory completion of an intensive curriculum offered at Cassadaga that takes 4 to 6 years to accomplish for the average student.
