Eminent Domaine - Whose Property is it Anyway? Public Verses Private Rights. An interview with Allen Douglas, Florida State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business. Reviews the Supreme Court decision of June 2005 and explains the new law recently passed by the Florida legislature and it's affect on all Floridians. Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) May 22, 2006 -- There is no legal definition of "blight", yet the government has been taking over private property under that auspices. The Florida legislature recently passed a new law which affects the way government can legally take over your property. Whether you're a home owner or small business owner your rights to your property should now be upheld. Government will no longer be able to come in and force you to sell at fair market value.
"Florida-Voice In Politics", interviews Allen Douglas, State Director for National Federation of Independent Business. NFIB represents 15,000 small businesses in the state and 600,000 nationwide. NFIB was very active in getting this law passed recently and Allen gives us some good insites into the background of the Supreme Court decision of June '05 and brings us up to date on the details of the new Florida law. At least one city will be challenging the new law on constitutional grounds, will they be successful or will it just create greater problems for them?
